While chatting about technology trends, Coastal Technology President Matthew Spring said he beliCheryl Melton, Chief Operations Officereves we are taking all the cheap technology services for granted. "Gas prices are outrageous and in demand. The technology of tomorrow will be like the oil of today," Spring said. This statement stirred the office up. Our Chief Operations Officer, Cheryl Melton, said she believes technology will just be something we do without even realizing it. She went on to add that we won't be able do business if technology fails. "If I don't check my email or if I lose my cell phone, I'm a wreck, " Melton said. "Imagine what things will be like 20 years from now."

Well, technology certainly is important. Everyone uses the Internet and, if you don't, you will pretty soon.

A strong Internet marketing campaign is essential to any successful website. You want to drive as much traffic as you can to your website, but what steps will you take to make this happen?

Define Exactly What Your Website is About

Does your website emphasize animal health? Is the basis of your website to inform readers about auto mechanics? Before you do anything with your website, you must define exactly what your website is all about. Stick to a plan and focus on your main objective.

Keyword Density

Let's say I'm creating a website solely about youth soccer in Norfolk, Virginia. I would always maintain consistency with keyword phrases that involve the words "youth," "soccer," "Norfolk," and "Virginia." However, you must be careful.

Do not "stuff" keywords on any page or article, or search engines will crush you for it. You are in essence spamming the search engines, and we all know spam is not a good thing. Increase your Search Engine Optimization (SEO) with strong, relevant keywords.

Eye-Popping Headlines

Grab the reader’s attention with a descriptive headline or title. Be aggressive. Always consider keywords related to your website's focus in every title, sub-title, and tag.

The more provocative the headline the better. Be creative.

Link Building

Do your best to trade links with websites and blogs that have high page rank and authority. When high-ranking websites link to you, your popularity is significantly increased. It's almost like becoming good buddies with a high-ranking government authority.

Do your best to obtain inbounding links (someone else linking to your site) and be careful about how too many outbound links you offer (linking out to someone else).

Pay-Per-Click (PPC)

If you're just starting out, Pay-Per-Click marketing campaigns can be very effective for your business's solutions. You never pay a penny until a user clicks on the advertisement. You are also in control of how much you are willing to pay for each click.
